A Scarf

I took this on as a study of texture, color and figure. I redid the face multiple times trying to get the angle just right. It was a very difficult angle to work from. Like all of my references for physical paintings, they start as mashed together images that I select and stitch together digitally (NO AI). I find it really helpful to have something to go back and reference as I paint as things easily get skewed or change slightly between the reference and final painting. This was great practice in melting together vibrant color without it getting muddy and desaturated which I found to happen quite easily in using oil if I am not careful!
